The vents in the front are actually functional. The air enters through the holes on the corners of the bumper and exits through the back of the front fenders. It also has functional brake ducts in the front.

The GTI Club Sport comes with really aggressive tires and a cargo net where the back seat should be. I think this is pretty close to an apples to apples situation.
