I live in SoCal. M3s are common here relative to the rest of the U.S., but not more commonplace than a Mustang. What I meant by "to be different" is that I'm a sports car guy, not a muscle guy - and sports car guys by and large would chose an M3 over a Mustang for RWD, V8 coupe thrills.

Awesome car, I'd have one over an M3 just to be different.
