Why do all the legacy auto journos seem hellbent on seeing them fail? Us weirdos can keep our Miatas and Porsches running long after they stop selling ICE cars, so why are they so threatened? EVs are superior in so many ways, especially to non-car people. And if we grow up, we might even get enthusiast EVs to enjoy.

Some near future - BMW now admits to the gaps they’ve had between the model ranges currently offered and are proud to present the 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, 6.5, and 7.5 series. Proudly offered in sedan, gran coupe, regular coupe, hatchback, SUV, egg-shaped SUV and cargo van variants.
In about 15 years, or two-ish product cycles, folks of a certain age will claim that the outgoing M2, which was decried by folks of a different age as a bloated successor to the last “real” M car, the 1 series M, will claim that THIS was the last “real" M car and the cycle will repeat anew.
