So.... his right to be a racist asshat trumps our right to feel that we’re safe in our own town?
So.... his right to be a racist asshat trumps our right to feel that we’re safe in our own town?
You keep saying that you don’t agree with this guy, but your strident support for his aims makes it hard to believe you.
“is everyone who is Republican a racist now?”
No one is saying he doesn’t have a right to his stupid beliefs. But this wasn’t about him creating his own white power masturbation club in his home. He was actively trying to annex a town that he wasn’t a part of.
You say he has a right to his ideas - but what are those ideas? And the thing about ideas, is that they are itchin’ to be put into practice.
I don’t know why you, nor anyone else who does, would say this. We have an overwhelming amount of federal anti-discrimination acts. Civil Rights, Immigration Control and Reform, Genetic Information, Fair Housing—every single one of these acts mean that he does not, in fact, have a right to creating a town that suits…
The one issue I have with this is that any kids growing up in that town will think its normal. Its one thing to be surrounded by hate and bigotry at home, but when you have whole communities devoted to it you get... well.... the south
“I’m just saying her actions reflect poorly on her character”
“The girl seems like the type”.
The boy says that they were. Who knows if the girl realized it was a staring contest. What should of happened is the teacher should have pulled them aside and explained his staring was making the other student uncomfortable and had him aplogize and move on.
Yes, exactly! Anti-choicers don’t seem to care that banning abortion is just sweeping a whole lot of underlying problems under the rug. Besides the small failure rate of birth control, why do we have abortions? Because of poverty, because of our shameful state of parental leave and childcare, because of misinformation…
Whenever the notion of gun control comes up, the Right is very quick to point out that banning something doesn’t make it go away, it just means that people desperate enough will go through whatever means they need to obtain it.
You need to get your colleagues behind this line of attack, Senator:
Thank you. My grandparents were persecuted for being Polish and ended up in concentration camps. I have Jewish people in my family, and they’ve been persecuted for basically as long as they’ve existed. Native Americans? Don’t even go there. Cindymoo’s tribal language and their customs have gone extinct due to white…
Actually, the burden of proof is on the person making the claim. And it should be obvious by now that people pursuing their personal agendas in the aftermath of a mass shooting is par for the course. Odd that multiple actual Christians get gunned down in an actual church and there’s no hashtag movement, no cries of…
—There are however instances where a CCW holder did in fact cause less harm to be done by an attacker—
You have absolutely no idea if “it would have been different circumstances.” This is what kills me about these arguments—you’re asserting that the simple presence of another person with a gun would automatically have fixed the situation. Because every person with a concealed gun is automatically a hero who would have…
What is this idiocy? I mean, it’s one thing to be there when a person starts shooting, pull out your gun and return fire. Still a bad idea, still won’t stop these sorts of things, but at least it’s understandable for people in that situation.
Because mentally ill people live all over the world and these types of mass shootings, generally speaking, do not happen in other industrialized countries. This was a mass shooting, it most certainly is an issue about guns.
