Bill, working with the knowledge that your boss enjoys paying for sexual release, one of your defenders was arrested on drug charges and that you had employed a murderer, was part of your strategy this season staffing your receiving corps with as many accused sex criminals as possible?

They aren’t giving an exact reason because they expect AB to sue them in an attempt to get his guaranteed money. If anyone associated with the team makes a definitive statement about why AB was cut, that could hamper the Patriots’ lawyers and their defense in court.

foot? Rexy? Is this Mrs. Ryan?

This is one of the many cases where the evasion and subterfuge cause more of an issue than there would be if they just answered honestly or directly. They want to bury the story and end up creating a whole new element to the story, somewhat akin to the Streisand effect.

That doesn’t really work, because the obvious followup is “why did you let him play a game for you if you take accusations of sexual assault seriously?”

That doesn’t really work, because the obvious followup is “why did you let him play a game for you if you take accusations of sexual assault seriously?” The honest answer is “we thought this initial rape accusation would be settled quietly out of court because it’s a civil case, and we weren’t expecting there would be

“It’s so easy for us to blame and shame because everyone has a voice now”

I doubt that Belichick and the Patriots want to paint themselves into a corner like that.

I'd suggest that Tom Brady has to go return some videotapes, but Roger Goodell has already made sure that those videotapes were destroyed.

That comment decrying how “everyone has a voice now” is very telling to me. Yeah, it’s a real shame that those who have, historically, been subject to abuse and assault now have some modicum of power to be heard (even if action and/or justice rarely follows).

I’m not going to add on. I’m not going to be a part of this culture that can become very negative, can become very blaming, very much point fingers. I think as a parent, what responsibility do we have to teach our children? What society do we want this to become? How do we choose in the role we have to make a

Except Carson wasn't even that good at what he did. They made him a professor because the malpractice suits were getting too expensive.

Who knew that dogs could blow dog whistles?

Leave to the Patriots to go out of their way to look like a bunch of assholes, when having the one opportunity to look decent and responsible is teed up and ready to go. NOW, let’s try this again;

Tom: “Sure, he did some terrible things before he joined the team, but that’s all TB12 under the bridge

It’s a perfectly valid leadership tactic to want to insulate a team from distractions, by taking the media heat. This is one of the reason why most of Belichick’s players respect his leadership style, since he never says anything negative about any player publicly.

It’s not his fault the interview was held in a park full of squirrels across the street from the post office.

““It’s so easy for us to blame and shame because everyone has a voice now,””

Imagine framing “everyone has a voice now” as a negative.

Another reminder that Tom Brady is football Tom Cruise.

It’s a damn shame that society has come to the point where we’re expected to listen to women when they accuse men of sexual assault. And even when the men are really good at football!
