Also ask anyone that has had to work on 4runner disk parking brakes how they feel about rear disk brakes. Or any rusty rear disk parking brakes for that matter. GM had so many warranty problems with rear truck disk brakes they actually went back to drum brakes.
Rear drum brakes are way better in the rust belt states. And cheaper to maintain. Most of your breaking issues were from the brakes being out of adjustment. And the seized park brake. You only really need new pins and the aluminum knuckle thingy for the park brake. But you could have dissembled them carefully and used…
