I just chose a 2008 Cayman, but it should be known that you can’t really upgrade the IMS bearing in the 2006-2008 cars without cracking the engine case, which is expensive. That being said, Porsche used a larger bearing in these models, and they’re much less likely to fail than pre-2006 water-cooled Porsches.

I mentioned this in another post, but the 2006-2008 Porsches can have the IMS bearing failure potential, but it’s much more rare than pre-2006 water-cooled Porsche engines. 2009+ is IMS free.

Yeah...no law is going to stop me from accessing my car’s fuel maps and timing for more power.
