By fragmenting its virtual console, Nintendo is essentially giving a huge “fuck you” to all of its customers. I mean seriously, how many times do I need to buy the original Mario before we just call it even and declare that I’ve upheld my end of the consumer social contract?

Nintendo doesn’t get any money from used game sales. This is just Nintendo being Nintendo, not understanding how to adapt to the 21st century.

How about Nintendo actually makes the games available for sale in the first place so people don't have to look to ROMs and emulators?

As the owner of a Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, and several handheld systems, let me tell you that this is a particularly difficult challenge in the modern age. Some of the older games (*Especially* the better SNES titles, looking at you Chrono Trigger and Earthbound) are extremely difficult to come by at a fair

It’s as if people are willing to pay for things if they’re priced reasonably and easily accessible!

Not to mention, there are virtually infinite similar ROM sites out there hosted all around the world, they’ll never even make a dent in them this way. Then again, you’re never gonna convince an insular corporation like Nintendo that the correct path to reducing piracy is to provide the goods and services that people

You’re making a legal argument in a discussion regarding ethics. It’s a debate that has been played out thousands, if not millions, of times in these kinds of online conversations, and I’m not interested in having it again.  It’s a tired debate.

Yup. People trying to convince everyone they aren’t stealing being sued by people trying to convince everyone that they aren't taking advantage of a ridiculous intellectual property system.

Piracy is rationalized entitlement.

One strategy that helps me is to go for defense only and just survive as long as possible. Getting greedy is my downfall when fighting bosses. Concentrating on just defending helps me get the timing of the boss attacks down. Once I can survive, I start figuring out when I have time to attack.

Fuck you.

Okay, but like, attendance isn’t mandatory. They could have easily not done a big thing, and saved people’s expectations. As Jason said, this is their first big press event at E3 in three years, so they made a conscious decision to make a huge deal out of their presence this year, and then didn’t have shit to present.

Them making 37000% of their Kickstarter goal is exactly why it’s taking many more years... More money meant a massively expanded development plan, and thus many, many more years to support that plan.

The team is very transparent about what they are working on and development progress. The game has regular updates

I completely disagree with this statement.

“I’m purely arguing for the game itself...” Yeah on every single comment that is even remotely critical of the game. I hope you’re getting paid for this advocacy.

I don’t think you understand what a pyramid scheme is... People investing in what you think is a game that won’t ever get finished does not make something a pyramid scheme.

Star citizen is looking more and more like the most elavorate nigerian prince scam in history, I mean, you bought into the kickstarter, you bought a premium pack, you paid for all the ships, are you gonna back out NOW? Think of all the money you already spent, it will be meaningless if you back out!

It’s crazy watching a religious cult form right before our eyes like this.

It’s really really, REALLy safe to say that, if you buy this $27000 ship pack,
YOU. ARE. A. FUCKING. MORON.
Rich moron, but a moron none the less.

It must be absolutely wonderful to be able to run a scam on these whales for as long as Chris Roberts has.
