@archercc: Which Apple device will short itself out if you mess with the software? If you brick your device by doing an update that's different than a device shorting itself out, you can control the updates.

If you want you can buy a HTC Evo, root it and then use its wifi signal to get service on your iPhone

@ddhboy: They made it out of glass, obviously you weren't supposed to actually use it. Come on its your own fault if you're complaining about not getting a signal. You can either be amazed at how an iPhone 4G looks or go get a flip phone with reception, you can't have both.
