I knew Apple was in trouble when it released the overpriced, underwhelming Mac Mini this year (and does anyone own a HomePod?). I’ve had Macs in my house since 1988, but for the first time I am considering buying a Windows box to replace my 9 year-old Mini.
I advised my teenage child if he wants to curry favor with the cool kids AND his parents, he should stand around and pretend he is puffing on a flash drive. Resembles like a vaping device without the health problems.
The time it takes to cash checks at my local bank has definitely increased in recent years. The tellers stare at their computer screen, ask me for ID even though I’ve had an account at the bank since 1996 and only after a manager comes over and stares at the screen do I get the money for my crappy $14/hour p/t job.
Ugh I work for a boss who is like that. She would rather have everyone physically in the office, even if it means spending the day commenting on Kinja. The minute we step out of the office, we are looked at suspiciously as slackers.

I have no idea how to monetize a career being a snarky Kinja commentator at this stage of my life. Until them, I am stuck in a soul-crushing office job that pays the bills but sucks the joy out of me.
If I were a student at that school, I would actually ANTICIPATE fire drills!
canned Tuna costs a fortune nowadays.
Any advice for dealing with self-doubt following the success of a colleague? I am genuinely happy when a coworker or peer receives accolades or a promotion but instead of holding any ill feelings toward them, I beat myself up and wonder what I did wrong. It’s getting to the point where I spend all days commenting on…
Syrena or the more well-known Pulaski Meats in Linden, NJ serve up a wide variety of kiebasa, kabanosy and other smoked meats. For pierogi, Pierogi Palace in nearby Rahway has been dishing out pierogi for decades and has a loyal following.
My BTC is down 20% for the year. I sold my meager holdings to pay a car repair bill. Oh well.
Found Mattel Football II under the tree on Christmas morning in 1978. My third grade teacher took the game away from me for a day after I was caught playing in class.
I totally agree. Cooking for one is a challenge. It’s hard to find food items - especially many perishables -for a single person. I find myself freezing lots of food so it won’t go bad.
Evan Williams FTW.
Then take the carcass and make chicken stock that you can store in the freezer.
