Again, the response to free marketeers is very simple: if wages were tied to the value of the stuff wage-earners created, then productivity would not have increased at 6.6x the rate of wage increases since 1973:

I’d absolutely be in favor of having a Job Guarantee program to provide jobs to soak up excess unemployment (and provide people with work in the interim until they can find other jobs in the private sector, if they choose). You wouldn’t even need to set an explicit price floor with it - the job guarantee jobs’ lowest…
but that won’t help the masses laid off to compensate for said wage increases.
lol Yeah! Because when we raise wages and give around a third of the entire American workforce more money, however will business be able to increase their profits and cover the additional cost?
Just don’t you fuck with us in the Tainter’s Union. Stay in your lane.
And yet the Democrats, in their apparently bottomless well of incompetence and reluctancy, they decry such movements as “too left,” they say “that’s too much money,” they pull in union money only to fund campaigns that then turn to corporation and their lobbyists and special interests.
Samir is a dumb hick.
The way consumerism has worked on the masses to not understand what is happening is astonishing. Consumerism is America’s greatest drug problem, not alcohol, meth, etc.

Blood and soil took inspiration from manifest destiny and the genocide of native americans. Tell me again how we are the ‘moral authority’ on anything?
Let’s just go basic income. Business owners won’t be able to whine at minimum-wage raises (and the few small businesses that could be hurt by a minimum-wage increase won’t be) while workers will get paid. Win-win — all the rest of have to do is pay a little more in taxes.
Never forget we’re a nation founded by the most effective terrorists in the history of the world.
Can you explain your comment a bit? Because I’d genuinely love to understand the cognitive process behind how you entertained and then developed that thought.
The Republican party is the most effective terrorist organization in the world.
No.
Way2go w/ that small government!
Jesus Christ. If you can’t afford to pay your workers $10/hour in 2017, you shouldn’t be in business. Full stop.
Will there be no end to this Republican fuckery?
