Spirited Away’s message of having to grow up and it’s multi-layered story is, IMHO, some of Ghibli’s finest work (and why it won an Oscar among it’s many awards and nominations).

Final Fantasy’s turn-based roots are in 1987. I don’t think it would have survived as a triple-A IP in this saturated market if it remained true to 1980s game design philosophy.

I’m from the 90s, and I still agree. I prefer calling it “competitive gaming”. I don’t know why, but to me, “E-Sports” sounds like a disgrace for both sports and gaming. Like it’s a half-assed sport, and a joke of a gaming event.

Chrono Cross’s battle system, while good in it’s own way, was a HUGE departure from Chrono Trigger. In fact, calling Chrono Cross a sequel is kind of a stretch if you’ve actually played it.
