The new Lambo looks pretty good. What the hell is up with that center console though? The visibility in this thing seems bad enough for every single one of them to end up in a lake.

What are you looking forward to as Europe’s automakers show off their finest finery?

Hey, I’m a busy guy.

I can only imagine a mirror universe, where electric cars won in the 1900s and you posted “Until anyone can recharge their car with gasoline at home, you aren’t going to replace the electric motor”.

Exactly. That’s why cellphones never caught on.

I own a 1994 Honda Del Sol (that’s 22 years old for those keeping score at home) with 355,000+ miles on it. Runs like a top.

Just one? First generation CR-V. I still see pre-2000 models on the road all the time, and the one in my family is cruising along at 300k miles just fine. The Honda B-series engine is insanely durable. I personally have a 6 year old Acura with 100k that could easily pass for a car with 1/10 the mileage, both inside

Sort of like how when people realize they can’t play video games without plugging their system into the wall, they’ll all go outside and play funnel ball again.

Bingo!

I’m in right-wing-vile Phoenix, AZ, and we have street size charging stations. Im sure a city like NY, where people actually pay taxes, could figure out how to install more of them.

that is one time and done. Unlike a gas car that needs a fill up every few days

If they can put up street lights they can put up chargers. In fact they make streetlight with chargers built in. They also have parking meters with chargers built in

For the billionth time, you CAN travel far with a Tesla Model S, as long as you live in a country with a decent Supercharger network (which are the only countries that will realistically see an EV market development). There is even an in-car-app that will tell you on which Supercharger to stop.

As I explained, that issue lies with early Nissan Leafs who chose crappy LMO chemistry with air cooling(instead of liquid cooling). So anyone who had a Leaf in hot climates ended up having their batteries cooked. (Heat is batteries worst enemy)

Aren’t Teslas already charging to 80% capacity in 20 minutes? Shave 5 during the next decade, and you barely have enough time to eat a snack, check your facebook and take a piss when stopping to charge. Not bad.

Bullshit. I’m so tired of this platitude. Most electric cars are charged at night, being plugged in at home. That’s already far more convenient than stopping at a gas station on the way to work.

Don’t discount the convenience of waking up to a “full tank” every morning.

Face it.

It’s all about the batteries. By 2024, batteries are predicted to be half the cost and twice the power that they are today. Still not cheap enough, still not enough storage. But by 2034, the capacity will double again, the price half agains. So then you’re getting 4 times the storage, for 1/4th the price.

I would
