I’d agree, but have you seen the most recent WRX?

They’re both limited volume vehicles. We’re not comparing commuter-spec cars here. People who buy these vehicles want that specific vehicle. Things like value per HP aren’t going to even factor into their decision.

Almost any hybrid or electric vehicle can beat a turbocharged vehicle across an intersection. That instant torque means moving 10-20 feet before the turbo car even comes up to full power.

There’s a reason most legacy manufacturers use more body panels that can be independently repaired or replaced.

Ever see a big-ass 747 or A380 come in for a landing? Those literally look like they’re just hanging out in the air until they fly over.

High speed rail in other countries usually has dedicated track that doesn’t intersect with roadways. So not only are they safer, they can also run at high speed for a longer % of the trip.

Yep. He is intentionally making USPS service worse. He’s trying to divert more urgent deliveries to the more expensive private companies run by his buddies and ultimately shut down the USPS.

LED lights tend to “flicker” on camera, because they have a refresh rate, and for things like brake lights, that rate is often slower than a camera’s capture rate.

Yeah, well, besides DeJoy’s sucking up to big oil and also trying to implode the USPS so his ownership in alternate delivery services pays out yuuuuge, it’s also because the USPS pays their delivery people a decent wage, unlike Amazon who uses subcontractors in all forms.

It has to be a dedicated control. Mine is also haptic, but it’s not buried under menus or anything.

If you want something to sit in your driveway that you can tinker on while you avoid your partner, sure. Nice Price.

Moving dates and various target metrics was bound to happen at some point. But the whole point of banning combustion-engine vehicles was to get the ball rolling on that ban, instead of people doing pie-in-the-sky wishing and never really making any movement towards actually banning combustion engine vehicles.

I’m guessing the reason it’s not selling it’s because it’s an unreasonable price for a 12 year-old SUV with 89,000 miles that’s basically a tarted-up GM product.

Is your vehicle equipped with a belt or chain-driving CVT as in the video, or are you driving a Prius with the eCVT, which is completely different?

The eCVT as implemented in Toyota and Ford hybrids is mechanically completely different than CVT designed for gas-only vehicles.

Toyota (and Ford’s) eCVT is a completely different beast. It achieves different ratios by having two electric motors act on a planetary gearset. There is a chain, but it’s only job is to bring in power from the gas engine, it doesn’t have a variable ratio or anything. It’s probably one of the most durable

No, but their families can. And the police can also conduct an investigation to determine if your actions were reasonable.

If you reasonably feared for your safety (and someone brandishing a pipe seems like they would represent a threat to your safety), then probably not. However, if the offender died, you’d probably at least end up having to hire a lawyer.

It’s California, so he still wants to save on gas money :)

Yeah, let’s jump straight to the victim-blaming.
