These aren’t “giant” CUVs. Despite the author of this post stating the CR-V is “midsize” it’s clearly “compact” SUV size. The footprint is roughly similar to a Honda Civic, not an Accord.

The EPA numbers are similar to the Rav4 Hybrid, so I’m not sure what you’re on about here.
Sure sounds like it. Adding more power to the ID lineup would be trivial. Start with the AWD version and pump up the amps to about 400, 500 HP. Stiffen the suspension a bit, throw on some R-specific wheels and bodywork, maybe some contrasting stitching on the seats, and you’re pretty much set.
FYI, Ford raised the price of the Maverick Hybrid.
I know I’m not a VW exec, but it seems like adding more power to the ID lineup would be trivial, and then it’s just a matter of suspension tuning and adding bodywork and big “R” graphics.
Well, crucially, China is not North America, and they have different automotive preferences and regulations.
Intriguing to you, yes. But the Miata is a niche vehicle, the Mazda3 is an also-ran in compact cars, and the CX60's sales may make the top 20 in compact SUVs, but considering there’s like 40 compact SUVs on the market, that’s just average.
Not to mention, in 2020, the outlook was Veeeeeerrrrry uncertain. Was this going to be a plague that wiped out 10, 20, 30, 50% of humanity worldwide? Would an effective vaccine be quickly developed and deployed? Could an effective vaccine be developed, considering COVID is related to the common cold and there’s no…
Is it just me, or I do smell an Ozark spin-off coming out of this?
Ran when sunk.
Considering a 15 year-old Corolla is now trading around $10k, I have to give this a Nice Price since it seems to be running and is more interesting (if less reliable) than a 15 year-old Corolla.
If only you had some kind of ass-map to find the gold, you wouldn’t have to work anymore!
But they’ll still stop in the middle of a busy street to pick up a passenger who thinks the middle of a busy street is a perfectly safe location to get into a vehicle.
In this market? Probably more.
Followed by slapping the tailgate and saying “That ain’t going nowhere!”
In direct contradiction to manufacturer’s marketing, towing capability is more closely correlated to the vehicle’s weight than it’s engine output. The tow vehicle has to have enough mass to be able to control the direction of the trailer. The 2023 F-150 is likely several hundred pounds heavier than your 1997 Chevy.
Vinfast might be able to make some inroads by leasing the battery separately. But it seems like the price of the non-battery portion of their vehicles is just as much as other EVs with the batteries, so we’ll see how that shakes out.
Also, the rate they quoted me was 2.49% - which, don’t get me wrong, is a great rate.
I’m speculating that, back in 2019, that’s how I got a brand new, $28,000 MSRP Volkswagen Tiguan, for $22k. Never confirmed it. Vehicle ran fine and I put 30k miles on it before trading it in last year.
That guy’s got some moves!
