My bike’s back brakes won’t stop squealing no matter how much I toe them in. I will try cleaning the rim and trying again, but god help me if I have to true this wheel one more time. Rebuilding my VW’s drum brakes took me less time than adjusting these cantis.

They’ll never have to ban gas cars. as soon as electric cars are available at the same price points as ICE, no one will want to buy ICE anymore.

But why? Electric is mechanically simpler than any ICE, converts more fuel into forward motion than any ICE. And before you get all, “herpderp too many electronics I can’t fix it,” same is true with ICEs these days and they don’t have electronics because of Tesla, they have electronics because that’s what people want.

Bad Take- this is like blaming the Japanese for destroying american auto manufacturing- Tesla did something that everyone kept saying was 10 years off and that auto manufacturers were like “yeah, but we really know how to build internal combustion engines so we’re just going to keep doing that...”

I think the issue here is that we rarely see actresses take up the opportunity to stand in solidarity with darker skinned actresses by passing up a role

I disagree on the unusably bad part simply because of all the people who keep and maintain old model Ts- they are without a doubt total garbage compared to literally anything on the road today short of the Changli, the controls are difficult and just starting one can be a production in and of itself. But people still

OK, absolutely LOVE that interior, though the cork worries me a little- cork stains and sucks up oils like a sponge, and kids looooooove to pick at it. that said it’s still gorgeous and I would trade my leather in a heartbeat for the gorgeous fabric on those seats.

The damage this asshole did is nothing that just goes away with a bandaid. Some of his victims may never ride again. I have a really hard time sticking to my belief that everyone deserves a chance at redemption when it comes to stuff like this.

Soooooo... when are we gonna get a bikelopnik review of whatever steel-framed beauty is hidden under that Fab’s chest, sporting the rattlesnake bar wrap? Because I wanna know about that.

So, you want every drive to be an exciting thrill ride? Do you commute to work with squealing tires and overheated brakes?

Or, to play devil’s advocate to you, is it that the definition of enthusiast is far broader that what many people choose to accept?

Maybe just get a much less expensive, much less likely to make your vehicle extra top-heavy, much much easier to get out of in the middle of the night to pee, regular tent that’s faster to pitch?

Also, how to do these things if you live east of the mississippi, where there aren’t huge tracts of BLM land and not a whole lot of forest roads...

OK, one major request- Please don’t just focus on outdoors stuff west of the Mississippi. I mean, I get it- it’s just EASY to go out into the boonies out west and it’s super picturesque but...

Yeah, well, back when your grandfather was alive that may have been true but if the last 20 years have taught us anything is that there really are differences that we need to pay attention to.

Same.

at 6'1" with a long torso and short legs, my view out of a Miata is the top of the windshield. I’ve ridden in several miatas of different generations and driven 2 of them and it’s always been the same- I just don’t fit. Can’t even imagine trying to fit in it with the top up.

What about those of us who, you know, only have one car? My car can sit for days without ever getting driven during the week, but on weekends I’m like “oh cool, I never heard of these trails, Ima drive north for 4 hours!”

Which makes me wonder who 600 miles of range is really for.

It looks like they’ve managed to create a modern Honda Element, and I mean that as a compliment. The Element was always a swiss army knife, but Ford has managed to improve it with better doors, better gas mileage and even better thought out for folks who do outdoors stuff.
