Maybe. But keep in mind he is a comedian who’s built a career, a pretty great career, without really ever doing any material that could even vaguely be described as risque in just about any way. He’s not really a “say whatever you want” kind of guy.
Firstly, yes this is totally true. Whether it’s true is a seperate question from whether or not it’s a good or a bad thing. But it’s true.
Even though you whittled down the reach of your comments with the repetition of “specifically,” posters will still think you made a gross generalization. That’s my bet. And it is those posters who are killing comedy. Also, I agree with you.
You know, I know that what Seinfeld said here is going to be anathema to a lot of people but, and I’m sure a Fallacy Monster will get me on this one, he’s easily one of the most successful(and in my opinion best) stand-up comedians who ever lived. Maybe his opinion on the state of comedy has some merit? Maybe there’s…
This kind of thing seems to happen a lot on the internet.
My favourite scene was the bit in her show where she mistakes one black shopping assistant for another, because black people all look the same. HILARIOUS .
My favourite comedy bit of hers is when she makes this joke about racist white girls by actually making a joke about how black people should get nicer names and stop yelling all the time and latino men should stop hitting women and latinas shouldn’t be so cray cray and how Indians should use some deodarant, although…
It would be disingenuous to say that Caitlyn Jenner didn’t enjoy advantages for living as a male when she was really female. We all know there are advantages to being a white male...or being seen as one.
I have a bunch of friends who are cis women, and I’m friends with quite a few other trans women too. For me personally, unless I’m really emotionally frazzled or having some severe bodily/gender dysphoria on a given day, I find it comforting and meaningful - like ondiac said in their post - to be around other women…
I don’t dislike you. I just kind of don’t believe you. But who cares what I think?
You tell me how a “doctor” spends all day bullshitting on the Internet. I’m hardly saving lives in my job and I get a burst of freedom just once every few weeks, which I spend questioning everything on Jezebel for a few hours before disappearing again.
Yeah, I’ve seen your comments too, girl. You are so creepy I thought you were a parody account.
Yeah, a random burner making a cranky comment = what an attention whore! Please shut up.
With all due respect, if this is satire, it’s very poorly done. Most readers of this site are educated, bright, and quite humorous. If this was even a moderately well-written satire piece, more readers would have realized it.
Its too bad it went downt he rabbit hole because the actual story is kinda delightful all around:
I clicked on the Post article, and it looks like she kissed him in Wellesley Center. Maybe she had a geneal goal of “kiss someone in Wellesley.” It’s unclear.
Both parties reported that it was a very much consensual, inconsequential gesture of support, and the third party (god are we really so antiquated to assume that a woman would be jealous over a peck of support?) agreed. Kissing a stranger without consent-yes that is crappy. It is also, by all reports, not remotely…
By all reports from all parties, the runner approached a stranger, got verbal consent from him, and they apparently redid the peck 3 times for a good photo.
