I hope it does, to be honest. I would prefer a female director simply because it seems like the only way studios hire women to direct or be the primary scriptwriter is for the content to have a female protagonist, but there are male directors I would trust to do right by Batgirl. Whedon’s not one of them.

Since it won’t come out for a few years, I don’t think they’ll be much bothered about it. And, let’s be honest, an average white man with a baseball cap can do just about anything and continue getting director gigs, and Whedon is definitely an above-average director with deep ties in all the superhero/geek franchises.…
As long as the director puts out a good product, and Whedon has shown he does so consistently, I don’t see any shake ups. WB/DC can’t really afford any more bad films and Whedon seems to be their ringer. I’d be shocked to hear he was fired over unrelated accusations.
It would already get questions from his previous recent work anyway, such as the whole Black Widow fuckery, so his actually fuckery will only add to it.
