I’m on board with all of the ~20 current commenters to this thread. This is one of the few Porsche cars that really makes me tingle. Funny that the writer of this story would write in the tone he has... This is like basically the only acceptable $2 million Jalop ride. The engineering, development etc of this car is

If I had $2M pocket change, I would love to be one of the “75 fools” to part with a couple of mil to own a Singer DLS. These things are stunning works of art, with performance to match, and will only appreciate in value.

Huh?

There is a capacity problem. Think of all those cars plugged in and charging at one time. Stringing wires to parking spots is doable. Getting more main trunk electrical feed cables brought in may not be.

We’re in a bad bad place and it’s not as simple as “GO GET VACCINATED”

you’re (and i don’t me YOU specifically, but people in general) just losing the ability to work at a company that doesn’t have it’s corporate head shoved up it’s corporate ass. people want to be selfish and/or stupid and not get vaccinated during a worldwide pandemic that’s already killed over 600,000 people in this

Companies have been able to mandate vaccines for decades. It’s not the same as, checks notes, murdering them.

Oh, what a tragedy, someone might require you to not kill your neighbors through negligence. However will you survive?

4th Gear: We need to stop playing with the anti-vaccine people. You don’t want to get vaccinated? You’re not welcome in public, government buildings, or workplaces. We cannot tolerate plague rats.

Or at the very least ruin your clutch and syncros before they give up

4th gear: “Turns out a centralized sales operation can screw customers over just like the dealers can.”

almost killed someone

And to think the GM 5.7 diesel didn’t even make the list...you all should have to daily drive one for the rest of your natural born lives to pay for your sins.  It wasn't even good enough to be used as a boat anchor.

Seriously how the hell did an LS and a 5.0 make this list? Y'all need to drive some shittier cars.

Hot take on the LS1. First time I have ever seen someone complain about the LS having “no torque”, or not revving. Granted, 6500 won’t set the world on fire, but it’s hardly disappointing.

You spent the whole article talking about supply issues and excess demand, then just blamed it on high prices.

An acquaintance of mine has a Toyobaru, and it was one of the most uncomfortable vehicles I’ve ever ridden in. I know he’s “modded” it, but to what extent I do not know... but every bump/divot in the road felt like a crash, he would have to rev the nuts off the engine when letting off the clutch to get going...

If you’re going to own a project car, ESPECIALLY one that is known to be temperamental, you need to make sure you have spare transportation. I love my 240SX but it has an uptime of <50%. I learned the hard way that I need a commuter vehicle too, one finicky project car does NOT successful employment make.

Yeah, this child that dehydrates at 78° seems like a very first-world type of problem.

If your family is sweating at 78 degrees and you’re worried about them dehydrating, you and your fellow penguins need to move back to Antarctica.
