Any minivan. They are incredibly useful vehicles, but once their done, they’re essentially trash.

They still make the GT-R. Those’ll survive.

Otherwise, completely agree.  The entire lineup looks like its already heading to the junkyard, right off the lot.

Pretty sure GTI fanboys keep these things on the road well past their useful lives. I’m sure a fair number end up in the crusher, but compared to the 90% of other cars on the road that don’t have fanboys?  Seems a stretch.

Only if you’re talking non-V8 models. V8 Camaros don’t end up in the junkyard crusher until they are completely destroyed. Even then, there’s more of them on the road today than their contemporary cars. Hard to argue the new ones will suffer worse fates than an IROC-Z...

No one is sending a NSX to a junkyard crusher. Those things will get passed around people’s collections for decades.

Seriously. Reading comprehension is shit around here.

Also, completely agree - all these lease-special German cars are definitely heading for the crusher.

Honestly...that would be awesome. I’d be all for that.

people don’t want to live in big cities.”

Say that again, but slower...

You do realize that by eliminating cars for the vast majority of people in this country who *don’t give a fuck about cars*, you open up the roads for pleasure driving, right?

Nah, lets just keep sitting in a fucking parking lot trying to get home - that’s where you really find out which cars are fun and which aren’t...

Where did he say it didn’t?

Seems like you’re just screaming into the void here. Might want to take a break from the interwebs for a bit. You’re clearly not doing well...

The Most Powerful Jeep Grand Cherokee Is A Plug-in Hybrid”

Safety? Hardly. Far far more likely to die in that car than on a train (17 times more likely, as a matter of fact).

Comfort? Again, hardly. Can’t stand up in a car. Can’t stretch out driving a car. Can’t read a book driving a car. Can’t watch a movie driving a car.

...you do realize that every highway that isn’t a toll road (and some that are) doesn’t make a profit either, right?

...sounds like a personal problem. I rode a ZX14 for a few years before it was stolen and it was astronomically better to ride than the lower powered bikes I came from. That thing is faster than any 4-wheeled vehicle this side of a Tesla Plaid and was absolutely perfect on the street.

You may want to wring the ever lovi

Yes, because your life experience is exactly the same as literally every other person in the entire world...

My partner’s stock Prius has bottomed out hard on some shitty speed bumps. And I literally don’t know anyone who drives slower or more conservatively.

Might want to take a closer look. A good 50% of that “grille” isn’t open.

*and yes, I’m counting the black bumper part, because they clearly want people to think it is part of the grille

Yes, and those were not the trucks for Toyota to model theirs after...

I’m not the one throwing up strawmen to puff my chest on my amazing haggling skills by including the benefits everyone else gets. Your argument is the equivalent of claiming to be able to run at 1000 mph...including the surface speed of the earth.

Its bullshit and you fucking know it.  So yeah, fuck off.

Put in a home solar system generates more power than we consume. Partner uses public transport as much as possible (unfortunately no option for me to use it). We’ll probably have at least one EV or PHEV in the next 5 years for commuting. We also try to reuse as much as possible. I’m also converting my 68 Olds to EFI

This is just a long rant to excuse yourself from any inconvenience.  There’s plenty individuals can do that not only save them money, but help.  Fact is, we’re in this mess because too many people take your approach.  No different than NIMBYs.
