You might be surprised at how incredibly dark disco track lyrics tended to be. Outside of the ones pointedly about sex, it was a dark genre lyrically, which kind of makes sense when you consider that it was made by and generally for oppressed people.

Re: Duncan Idaho, he’s always been portrayed as a swashbuckling, rough and tumble soldier in the previous film versions so I think Momoa is a perfect fit.  It’s been far too long since I read the books but as I recall one of the major subplots is how he grows throughout the story.
