It depends on what you consider obscure. As an American, it’s pretty obscure to know that the Citroen CX had a bizarre automatic brake setup that didn’t have a pedal, but was effectively a foot-switch. Which was innovative, but decades later probably doesn’t work right.

As well you should.

My irl reaction to reading that was: “jesus fucking christ”

So it’s like NASCAR, except, and I say this as an American born in and living in the southeast quadrant of our country, much, much MUCH better.

Around 2012-13 or so, I worked a contract job for a woman sysadmin (both of us working under a massive asshole of a boss, long story but by the end they didn’t want to bring me onboard). That was two or three years after all laptops started coming with built-in webcams, and I off-handedly mentioned one day that I

I don’t mind a password manager, so long as the library is only kept on my devices and is strongly encrypted. I use Keepass with a strong master password.

Absolutely on point, I’m genuinely stunned whenever I meet a tech person who uses and of this “smart” IOT crap. I worked with an older guy last year, surely old enough to know better, who was raving about his Alexa and how he had his whole house wired and I was just amazed that he had no problem with having mic’d up

Well, yes, but supercar is a stupid term for souped-up sportscars anyway.

It’s a formula E post, they’ll be complaining about how the cars don’t sound right and it’s boring racing.

V8 Supercars are actually very capable-if-powerful touring cars. The Supercars series used to be the Australian Touring Car Championship.

Now playing

The problem with the studio stuff was that the news section only worked when they were actually doing a weekly show, so even going back and watching old episodes kind of gives you a snapshot of what was going on in the car world at the time. Now that there’s several months of delays, they just picked whatever they

Jenson Button appears to be out of the race, his trophy truck hasn’t moved in 6 hours.

Like a rabbit’s nose.

Silver ‘87 240 here. Dad thought it was safe, I thought ‘hey, RWD? Let’s see if I can hang the ass out.’

That’s fair, but I honestly can’t think of any halo car off the top of my head that hasn’t been priced really high for the time.  Even the NSX was expensive, even if it was much less expensive than a Ferrari.

Congrats on giving Tesla yet another interest free loan, I guess?

This was a hell of a weekend for you guys to forget the motorsports roundup. Kyalami 9hr just ended, both F-E races are done, DTMxSUPERGT DREAM RACE 1 is over but race 2 is this evening, the final two races of the V8 Supercars series are this weekend, first one is already done.

Extremely expensive tech at the moment? Lambo is trying to do it but Lambo is one of the only car companies that literally has no price constraints in its’ market.

Well, the point of trying to go back to their roots with a RWD sports coupe would be that it couldn’t be priced like a halo car.  It would need to compete with the Mustang and Camaro, because the 370z just isn’t.
