That movie is an abomination against God.
That movie is an abomination against God.
I think “Good Times Bad Times” is way too low as well. I mean, that’s one of the greatest opening statements in the history of popular music.
:O
Also, shoutout to Zepparella for this pretty kickass version of “When the Levee Breaks”.
The sanctimonious tone of this article is exactly why this movie is doing well.
“leftist meltdown” Lol
Considering how well the War on Drugs, War on Poverty, and War on Terror have gone, I don't think creating a War on Child Trafficking will have good results.
Who is watching this crap?
The problem with talking about Superman killing Zod is you draw attention from people who don’t have a firm grasp on the idea that movies are written by a person who was making choices all the way through.
Yeah this was easily the worst Pa Kent we could have ever had. A man willing to let bus loads of children die to keep Clark’s secret. His death scene is utterly pointless, it teaches nothing whatsoever to Clark other than his father was an absolute idiot.
If he’s simply died of a heart attack whilst working on the…
Self-important, weightless garbage from the first frame. So up its own ass, the way it was constantly intercutting between timeframes, scared of the very well-trod origin story it had to tell. Pa Kent became a villain. So much mindless destruction that it flipped an internal switch where one no longer could care about…
You completely omitted George Pal’s “Destination: Moon,” “Forbidden Planet,” not to mention anything that Ray Harryhausen produced, and as far as modern films go, also omitted Dragonslayer, which used a newly created process to make model work look more realistic by creating a motion blur.
I think you also have to include George Pal’s “War of the Worlds” on any such list. It really blew the lid off of visual effects and is still impressive as hell. “Forbidden Planet” also deserves at least a nod.
Harryhausen not mentioned once . . .
...a yes-to-everything approach to picking projects makes me think of Lawrence Olivier at the end of his life. He’d remarried and started a family with Joan Plowright, and had school fees to pay.
Maybe it’s about the acting and not about the success of the film itself. There are plenty of great players in sports that don’t have championships or played on great teams. An oscar winning film or box office hit isn’t a prerequisite for being considered a good actor. The guy loves to act, and maybe he loves doing or…
You seem to be under the impression that Robert DeNiro owes you something.
Should you still love your mom? What a dumb fucking question. Actors age. They want to keep busy. Sometimes they make a few bad films. Sometimes they make them by the droves. At least DeNiro hasn’t been schlepping DTV trash for decades like some folks. And those people? I still love their old classics too.
No one has mentioned this yet, but I thought that one reason DeNiro has worked so much in the last twenty years is to help fund his other interests, like his restaurants, his production company and the Tribeca Film Festival
What a stupid fucking premise for an article. Good job. Good effort.
