To be fair, a bunch of those revised cuts were done without his input

Wanda is supposed to be this horrible evil that’s destined to destroy the Earth, but we saw no hints of that in the show.
Why was Monica able to see that Agatha was using the necklace to control Fietro? I get that she can now see different spectrums of energy, but what does that have to do with magic?
Speaking as a Jew myself, that’s not always the case. There’s a long history of alliance on civil rights and striving for social justice, but occasionally we decide it’s easier to just become white instead. Keep in mind, Kushner and Stephen Miller are both Jewish, and they were respectively the Goering and the…
I’d probably watch it if it were on D+, though even the non-problematic scenes aren’t supposed to be amazing. Seems like a missed opportunity to give some black documentarians a nice Disney paycheck to make some sort of supplemental feature properly explaining the context along with the film itself, and I'm sure…
- Looks like there was one disclaimer they forgot.
Just want to add a shout out to Happy Endings because those credits were 100 percent inspired by them and not the Office or anything.
Best episode of the season by a country mile. I wish they had just had WandaVision be a Modern Family/modern sitcom parody rather than the time-jumping: the writers feel so much more comfortable in this milieu, and it’s the first time the sitcom elements have worked pretty seamlessly with the plot elements.
I have to say, closing the episode with the reveal and the theme song struck me as a pretty ballsy way to do a parlor scene.
Also, Stephen, you’re not alone in loving Into The Spiderverse; for me it’s this generation’s Akira.
BRILLIANT.
With a New Hope , Lucas also had alot of talented craftsmen involved, I remember hearing a story that the cinematographer fought with Lucas over the look of the movie, Lucas wanted to do a dreamy filter while he wanted a more realistic image. If you look purely at the camera work and shots in the prequels (non cgi…
There’s a YT channel called Black Nerd Reviews I think, by a very funny gay black guy, and it’s f-ing hysterical and as you can imagine, he holds nothing back. His Cats (the cursed ill-fated film version) review is legendary, if memory serves. You may want to check it out sometime.
Look, I’ll acknowledge up front that I’m probably being oversensitive about this, but is there a reason you decided to single out the religious affiliation of the the two white creators? I understand that you’re contrasting the majority Black/Latinx roles with the producer and director, but I don’t see why you need to…
OMGoddess...I first saw this movie with my parents when I was a youngin’...so young that most of the movie went...whoosh...right over my head.
The forgotten 1970s romantic comedy...
It pretty much has nothing to do with the “sound” of the character, and everything to do with representation on (or I suppose in animation, “in”?) screen. I’m mixed, sound white (but look mixed) and I get so excited when I see other mixed actors/actresses on screen. I don’t get excited when I see another white person…
Or people saw it when they were younger and liked it. Not everything has to be rewatched and analyzed to the point of not liking it anymore. It’s OK to like things, you know?
America won’t be ready to face up to that part of its history until it can acknowledge and deal with its legacy in the present.
