But it does not at all measure that the kids are doing better than they would otherwise, or if they are doing worse. If the comparable demographic has an average GPA of 3.5 and homeschooled kids have an average of 3.4, then they are worse off academically by being homeschooled. I don’t know if that’s the case, because…
Wow did you misunderstand that. I’m saying that comparing test scores from homeschooled kids to the general population proves literally nothing since the homeschooled kids almost universally come from the demographics that score the best anyway
I agree with just about everything you say, but in particular what you say in that first paragraph stands out to me as well. School gets out at like what, 2 o’clock each day? Those seven after school hours (plus weekends and summer) don’t give these parents enough time to take their kid to the park?
A self-selected group of white, middle-to-upper class kids from stable homes whose parents have college educations compared favorably to the general population? Color me shocked.
This could be the best movie of all time, and there would be a ton of people tearing it apart simply because they don’t like the female leads.
You are thinking of summer leagues (like the Cape Cod League), which are specifically for college students. The Stompers are a professional independent league team that by definition doesn’t have any college players, lest they lose their amateur eligibility.
Very, very few players are good enough to get full rides to play college ball, and if her other options include signing with an independent league team, she’s not one of them.
The Braves aren’t moving to Cobb County to move closer to their ticket base, they are moving because those were the suckers who rolled over after Atlanta pushed back.
In Billy’s defense, he’d be able to spend more time writing about the Premier League instead of MLS if City hadn’t wrapped up the title back in September.
So, the answer is Deflategate?
A player improving in the exact way that PED’s theoretically allow you to improve, by adding strength and power to his game, in the period of time right before he was busted for using said PED’s? Uh, I’m a pretty big PED apologist normally, but I think it’s safe to assume in this case they had some impact.
It’s impressive that, simultaneously, Roger Goodell is the only thing that could ever make me side with Brady and the Patriots, while Patriots fans are the only thing that could ever make me side with Goodell.
The current front page of Deadspin has the same number of articles about how supposedly diversity conscious companies don’t hire enough women, as articles written by women.
Yeah, I hope Billy cooks up a blog on this soon.
Considering how bad all of your takes are, you should really consider quoting someone other than just yourself as evidence for every new, shitty take you have.
It’s of course possible that Marshall truly believes he is innocent
Taking responsibility for your actions would mean not getting behind the wheel when you are drunk. What she did was issue a boilerplate apology after she was arrested and had no choice other than to take responsibility (it’s not like she could deny it).
By making a clear error that could have easily been avoided with five seconds of fact checking, Benoit...Balls was just copying Billy’s writing style.
Yes, the next time an NBA has 5x more points than their opponent at halftime, people will probably be amazed, because it will also be the first time that’s ever happened.
