Agree with everything you're saying: Bacon is great and the show around him is not. It's surprisingly flat and obvious, despite it's clear desire to be shocking, graphic and daring.

Which is strange because Itzin on 24 was amazing

Feeling better now that the Initiative elements are coming together, but you're right, Carrie, the Initiative still feel like a indistinct vaguely threatening form…fronted by a lone woman who rides around in a limo ordering assassinations in between sending videos of teens ODing. Scary!

Really? April still seems unnecessary (we killed too many of our human cast, bring in that chick from Nine Lives of Chloe).

Absolutely horrifying / we used it in our review

Ugh - she was just eye-candy to ensure that Julian can continue being the biggest asshat on the show

@avclub-baf3d07b0caa2a06ac0a87695a35610e:disqus It is absolutely worth catching up on. Just because it's canceled doesn't mean this last batch of episodes hasn't been amazing

Really enjoyed the episode - it moved along like a freight train. Kept expecting mayhem at the festival, but then we realized that they'll likely keep it for next week (though this has never been a show about violence).

Having seen the original run (we review the whole series), this is definitely worth covering. It's not a perfect show, but it has enough intriguing elements to merit following the first episode. One of the best elements of the pilot is the set-up: the future is JUST familiar enough to be believable, but has enough

Loved how the whole episode was incredibly campy and over-the-top, but it didn't work when they tried to insert genuine moments of concern from Dyson and Kenzi. There's was never any threat of danger - why not just let the episode be silly and leave it at that.

Lots of good set-up. In our review, we talk about how we're more interested in the skydiver plotline than Preacher Billy at this point, but we're just happy to have our Harlan County folks back.

Those independent films look nearly as worthwhile as the "top" films

Ugh…poor guy. Lost Girl = character development, rich mythology, fun stories, great costumes. 2 Broke Girls = juvenile sex jokes, racism/sexism, stagnant characters. The only reason to watch is to support Dennings and Behrs.

The fairy attack was beyond silly (it veered into camp, especially when they began hitting the guards with glittery sleeping bombs). So silly indeed!

Emma has been the problem with the show for a good long while - this should be some great character drama to mine (hero refuses to accept destiny and ultimately has to learn how to live up to their responsibility) and instead it's made the show tedious and frustrating.

Definitely a solid episode (our take here: http://wp.me/p1VQBq-DW), especially in the meta-approach that the show adopted (Jefferson's discussion about multiple worlds and how some have magic is akin to the discussion that the show has been having with viewers since the start of the season). That's what makes it so

This easily felt like one of the best FairyTale vs Storybrooke contrasts - agreed that it was well used (it's amusing to read people's takes: why is Charming so charming and David so piggish…)
