Wait what?

I know... I try to be an advocate/ally and speak about these things to other white people when there are no black people to speak for themselves and it just feels like punching a brick wall. Even if I get someone to concede a point I make there is always a “but” that they counter with to wash it away. If I get them

I had just posted in another article about “article painting white murderers in a positive light” that my own take-away from the referenced article is that it tells people “look, even ‘normal’ people can be murderers”. Of course, my take-away is because I’m a logical person. I have to remind myself every single day

The fact that you are even cognizant of our internal, ingrained biases is the greatest step forward. You’re not whining, I appreciate you sharing. Now that you are aware, you can retrain yourself and not stand for it when others display it around you. You don’t need racists and bigots as friends.

Don’t let this pathetic fuck troll you. Locomotive is by far the number one troll in all of the Kinjaverse. He never stops trolling, day in and out on his thousands of burners. He really hates when black people speak and I guess his new thing is going around spreading lies about the usual commenters here to discredit

This poster is trolling you. Don’t engage

Beautiful writing, as usual. I’m at a loss for words, but I physically clapped after finishing your article.

It’s because white people get to be “lone wolves” or “mentally ill” rather than terrorists

New Zealand is out front on this—their national allergy site is awesome!

I’ve noticed it sometimes with apples and cherries...but it’s not consistent. I haven’t experimented to see if the reaction is variety specific or not...or if maybe sometimes I haven’t cleaned them well enough.

Just addressing Mangos. Make sure you completely remove the flesh form the skin. Mango skin contains urushiol, the same thing that causes a reaction to poison ivy. Much lower concentration, but if you are sensitive, it can cause anything from mild irritation to serious blistering.

It happens. I developed an allergy to Oranges and Tomatoes in my early 20's. I also developed nut allergies around that time too. I used to eat almonds and walnuts all the time as a kid but now I cant even touch them. Not to sure how that one developed.

Oh, I know those hives. They are the worst. And even more fun if you get staph and/or cellulitis from the open wounds. Yippee, drug intolerance!

When I developed my autoimmune disorder, my primary physician thought it was Lyme and put me on strong antibiotics. I was already allergic to penicillin, but this seems to have primed my immune system to reject every antibiotic. I can take them for about 3 days before I start becoming allergic and getting full body

Definitely can develop later in life and get worse with exposure. Also, being on some medications can trigger an allergy to things, which may go away when you stop the med but may not. There was a drug I was on for a few years that suddenly made me allergic to shellfish (hives, wheezing, whole deal). Sucked, but it

Fairly good starter article on cross-reactive allergies for you:

This sounds like both my wife and myself, pollen aficionados. For her, bananas and honeydew melons. For me, variable things, but lesser.

These are known allergens--I think bananas are analogous to latex? Stone fruits map to birch pollen, I think---there are charts online.

Yep, it develops over time. That’s pretty typical for this, according to the sources above. I don’t blame you for being cautious!
