I just re-read the first few books. He has learned to read English by the time he meets Jane, but not to speak it. He learns French from D’Arnot when he goes to save him after he meets Jane. He doesn’t learn English until on the road with D’Arnot after the rest have been rescued. #TarzanNerd

Forty-plus? I thought it was just twenty-four and that Tarzan twins one. I read them all between the ages of eight and twelve. The old Ballantine covers from the seventies can still make my heart race.

Tell me about it. I loved TARZAN AT THE EARTH’S CORE as a kid.

My grandfather actually had a couple of beaten-up old hardcovers of the Burroughs’ novels which he gave to me long, long ago. TARZAN, LORD OF THE JUNGLE and TARZAN THE INVINCIBLE, as I recall.

And more recently:

if Netflix isn’t going to do an Iron Fist show, how about doing Colleen Wing and Misty Knight instead?

You could - and should - make a weekend binge out of nothing but The Wild Bunch and Once Upon a Time in the West, Leone’s damn near three hour masterpiece from 1968. Anime fans will be shocked how much this film influences the genre even today — Fonda’s - yes, Henry Fonda - murderous sociopath is the template for

I’m assuming ‘Troll Hunter’ wasn’t counted as horror? Best found footage movie I’ve seen in ages.

First African American comic book character, not first African American comic book character to appear in a comic book movie. Falcon was the first African American superhero in mainstream comics, back in the 60s.

If you haven’t seen hard boiled, you at least owe it to yourself to watch this much:
