Agreed. I like Cloverfield but no other kaiju movie has delivered what they did in the opening act of Gamera 3. Quiet evening, folks out in the city, a flash of light in the sky and then all hell breaks loose.

That was my thought as well. That’s going to be a great reveal when Jessica figures out he has powers too.

That would be hilarious and freaky. He could be his father and mother.

I still think he’s going to end up being Quill’s dad in the movies. It would explain the Pelvic Sorcery and give him a tie to Thanos.

It’s the bag. The Crown Royal bag is everything.

All of the above? Nah.

Why does the sight of a crowd of Japanese people fleeing in terror fill me with such joy?

That’s America Chavez aka Miss America.

That sounds like William Gibson’s Pattern Recognition.

He also killed it in The Losers. He was perfect as Jensen.

Matt Wagner’s Grendel: Devil by the Deed is the first thing that came to my mind.

I was talking about the from the time he went down until the end of the fight. Nonito dropped him but Rigo got up and took the fight out of Donaire nearly immediately. Donaire was content to make it to the final bell after Rigo hurt him. The fight was never in question but any thoughts of a heroic comeback went out

Lara good boxer but his lack of killer instinct and spotty stamina at times hurts him. Rigo is tough, nasty piece of work.

It got a second life after Battlefield Earth became successful. I liked that one quite a bit.

For some reason the only modern scifi authors my local bookstore would stock regularly were Philip Jose Farmer and Jack L. Chalker. Those two are stuck together in my brain for eternity.

I got suckered into it as well. I kept reading waiting for something to happen. Never did.

Great calls but for Esthero. I would pick Superheroes and My Torture as well.

Try his FF stuff. The Council of Reeds storyline is a blast.

Since they have no Destroyer and the real Odin is MIA Thanos with a stone or two can walk in and take it. It would establish him as a true threat if he wrecks Asgard. And he has some unfinished business with Loki.

There was a sequence in Sword of Shannara where they are they attacked in the ruins of an ancient city. They mention the crumbling skyscrapers and other artifacts.
