Those ventiports have been a Buick thing for like a million years. they’ve always been kind of dumb, but they’re not new.

award shows always have the art/commerce problem, but you can also plausibly sell the artistry. the academy awards are a self-important circle jerk, but it’s anchored on film as an art form. this is naked commerce and corporate greed, which feels weird to present an award to. it’s like giving an award for best use of

I don’t know what qualifies as “amazing,” but see NYT and Splinter.

An opinion about an individual, based on that person’s words and actions, is different than saying something bigoted.

Is it different to say you only date people of a specific race, rather than, “I don’t date x race?” One seems like you’ve got a type (which can be creepy sometimes), the other seems kind of racist.

I really liked him on BoJack Horseman. Also, Archer and Bob’s Burgers. He’s the best.

My biggest regret:

Every single person who refuses to buy something should be thrown out of Starbucks, Panera, etc. It’s sort of the price of admission for a seat in a temperature controlled place with a bathroom and I will never be okay with non-paying people taking up space if the place is full.

Sadly, this thing has made an appearance before. Can you believe D&G thought someone would pay $2400 for that?

It’s a $2400 D&G dress. It must have been kicking around The View’s wardrobe closet since September:

Like others said, this is nowhere near reflective of the national average. Regardless, $76k seems on the low side for an experienced, highly educated (most states require a master’s degree) person in a pretty demanding field.

You are the worst lol

Are the beds on these really short, or are the enormous cabs just making them look small? Either way, the proportions are ridiculous.

Her show has gotten a lot better lately. It seems like she jokes about herself more. It used to be just 22 minutes of rage and a half-hearted punchline. Cathartic, but humor seemed to be secondary to making a political point.

Trying to secure a living wage=biting the hand that feeds you. Sure. just be grateful you’re not a slave, you filthy line cook.

The GoFundMe thing is sort of dumb, but even ~$157k/year for 20 years in DC isn’t getting you to a net worth in the millions.

A federal employee in this sense is very different than your typical elected or appointed official. His post-FBI employment/book deal prospects are very good, but while serving, he probably didn’t have any side gigs or anything (FBI isn’t big on that). And $157k is high, but still a (higher-end) middle class salary in

Righteous is different than right. Most decent people are able to reflect on their beliefs, question if they are doing their best, or struggle with moral ambiguity. A rule of thumb: the more right you know you are, the shittier you are.

These people sound awful, but are you really a psychologist? I would expect a little more nuance than “those people are just fucked in the head, nothing else.” Even terminally fucked up people are worth understanding clinically, right?
