Of course there are old white guys. Someone has to tell the ladies how to think about things.

I’m trying to find someone in that picture who isn’t white. I think I spotted Waldo, but otherwise it’s wall to wall crackers. Should have called it the Nuts and Crackers Conference

I’m genuinely curious, as I do not follow such hearings very closely: when DoD projects continually come in over budget, which they are seemingly wont to do, is there as much scrutiny as we are seeing with NASA’s spending?

Agreed. There is a genuine question raised by the response to this photo as to who is really reinforcing and perpetuating these stereotypes? Even if Lagerfeld’s intents are suspect, do we automatically have to engage with/subscribe to them in the stereotypical manner?

That’s why I asked if there was space for both of

I don’t see how anyone is expecting the FF7 remake this year or even early next. It’s not gonna show before the next gen systems officially get names and a press event and that’s being kind. They’ve got too much riding on it to dare to announce anything else about it before it’s ready.

If you use the float and hover method, PLEASE wipe the seat when you are done! There is nothing more gross than getting into a stall only to find the seat covered in piss (or something else).

In fairness, “new GW” (post Kirby firing in 2016) is actually doing a lot better. Sure, it’s still expensive as all hell, but they’re actually making an attempt at value again, and for the first time in the history of the company are doing things like “engaging with the community” and “market research” to give the

Another great sci-fi property is the Srugatsky brothers’ novel Roadside Picnic, later the superb Tarkovsky film Stalker. There, too, the aliens stop by, but they’re so incomprehensible to us that their trash is basically magic to us. We’re left picking over the detritus they left behind, and it’s completely

Came here to say the same thing. I would like to see a movie where aliens come, smash society in 24hours, then extract whatever the they want from this planet. The last remnants of humanity are left behind in whatever sludge was left over.

I might point out that The Expanse would be an example of a sci-fi property that observes this.

I really admire the hubris of movies like this in imagining that humankind would have any means whatsoever to oppose the will of a civilization that had already mastered interstellar travel.

They graduated high school and are on their way to college. College students make up a huge portion of the voting population. To wit: If every college Berner would have showed up to vote for Hillary she would have won in an electoral landslide, not just a popular landslide. They are super important to our democracy.

You were way to nice with your reply. You’re a better person than I am. The internet seems to be filled with people who don’t understand subtext and get defensive when people begin discussing said subtext.

The developers have literally talked about the sexual elements of the game, the monsters, mary, pyramid head, and james’ sexual repression etc, (and I don’t know how this isn’t the most obvious thing just from playing the game, it’s apart of everything in the game) not that the word of the developers should even

I think people react to and interpret art and entertainment in a variety of ways. If film theory is a legitimate discipline, then why not video game theory? It certainly doesn’t apply to every game, and sometimes symbolism can be a real reach. I’m not claiming that, you know, Tetris is about man’s Sisyphean struggles

They’d have to get Team Silent to do it or another internal studio. They remastered Silent Hill 2&3 for PS3/360 and we know how that turned out. I know there’s legal reasons for why it turned out the way it did.

One of my favorite games of all time. Beating it left me emotionally exhausted when I was younger. Almost a state of shock. Great write up though! I sorta feel like Pyramid Head should have stayed in Silent Hill 2. Instead he was forced into different entries for no apparent reason other then, “Oh look, it’s Pyramid

For me, the SH games were the first (and debatably only) horror games that were truly frightening, and actually interesting. Not just jump-scare, “omg I’m about to use all my ammo and healthpacks” anxiety, that the RE games felt to me. But actual mystery, mythology, genuine otherworldly creepiness nightmares.

What you call “Palestinian propaganda” most of the rest of us would call a dry statement of the fact of Israeli violence against Palestine.

Bathing is bathing, taking a minute or two out of the day to keep that snatch fresh is something else all together. I’m sure even the peasants who wanted a little oral kept it somewhat on the up and up.
