1st, your attention should be focused ahead of you so you have enough time to react to changing conditions. Your peripheral vision is what you use to catch idiots changing lanes into you.

I’d like to point out that the camera has the speed information blanked, so we don’t know exactly what’s going on here. You could accuse the Camry for failing to keep up to traffic, but everybody else could be illegally speeding as well. Right-hand passing may not be against the law (generally) but it’s kind of poor

This! Passing on the right is not illegal in any state in the US I’m aware of.

I don’t understand how everyone thinks he was passing on the right. He was driving on the right like you’re supposed to in NY. The Camry merged onto the roadway from a left lane on ramp and decided to change lanes before looking to see if it was safe. The only one to blame here is the Camry driver plus he was driving

This topic comes up on every one of the videos like this, and I honestly don’t know how you “don’t pass on the right” people get through a single day on the road, let alone your entire lives, without being in a lane that happens to go faster than another lane. Unless you just camp out in the right and go well below

Except there are no assumptions when it’s plainly visible and audible in the video, right? Engine speed increases a good few seconds before he lines up with the Camry, which is a passing maneuver. Then the Camry moves over and the driver of the BRZ mashes the gas even more and honks the horn, instead of braking.

It’s always been my understanding that “passing on the right” involves moving from the lane you are in to the lane immediately to the right, then passing, then sliding back left a lane. This guy was just going faster in the middle lane than someone in the left lane. Happens all the time here in Orlando when rental
