You actually can open the engine cover. There are two small locks you have to twist on either side of the cover (the small silver circles under the edge) and once you open those the cover just lifts up.
I personally think it looks great for it’s age and most of the cars based off it looked just as good.
The driving reminded me of the driving in the Saints Row games. It wasn’t bad but it had no real change in characteristics from car to car.
I enjoyed it. It wasn’t great but I had fun playing it and I think that the game being as simultaneously amazing/terrible as it was made it better.
