You actually can open the engine cover. There are two small locks you have to twist on either side of the cover (the small silver circles under the edge) and once you open those the cover just lifts up.

The oldest machines that can run El Capitan are from 2008. If you can do basic math you’ll notice that that’s 8 years.

That much money for the novelty of a detachable keyboard, a stylus, and a tablet that thermal throttles the hell out of itself isn’t worth it. You can get something equivalent or better for about $500 less.

The specs themselves aren’t bad but for the price you could get much more.

Also the hinge sucks and when the tablet is attached to the keyboard it’s very top heavy.

They basically make a tablet with specs that aren’t all that impressive and a keyboard dock and charged a huge amount of money.

But for what you get and the way it is implemented it shouldn't cost as much as it does.

You can even buy a Surface tablet with the money you saved in case you still want to draw or just buy a Wacom tablet and use it with the MBP

Because according to Microsoft sticking a keyboard to a tablet using an awful hinge and calling it a laptop is “innovation” and is worth more than a real laptop with much more power.

I’d rather spend $3,200 on a gaming/workstation desktop or laptop than a glorified tablet
