Other than telling everyone, I kind of like what Aunt Bev did. She seemed to be so excited.

I agree with Gunter and Marillenbaum. Don’t contact him. He’s not worth it. Ghosting absolutely sucks. When I used to date, even if there was nothing there, I always let the guy know why via at least a phone call. It’s terribly painful to do that to someone.
I couldn’t stand the Oprah Winfrey Show, but I remember a suitemate loved her and I think I watched that episode. The law enforcement expert said never let them take you to a second location. I’ve never forgotten that.
I was going to reply about Twist myself. It is an excellent movie that I caught years ago. I was shocked how at how good Nick Stahl was in that film.
I began flying by myself domestically at six and internationally at 10. It’s completely fine. I’m actually astonished by how many parents are terrified about this. Maybe I don’t have that anxiety because I’ve done it myself in the bad old ‘80s.
That stress- oh do I recall it. It’s so funny how your body’s going through things due to stress that you don’t even realize until you’re out of the situation. The walking on eggshells and dealing with someone who’s unreasonable is a whole other thing.
Well... there’s that. Don’t let an already controlling man realize the woman he’s with is more intelligent than he is.
I actually have been inside of a courtroom as a survivor of domestic violence and I’ll be back in court tomorrow afternoon.
The have done v the haven’t done is so on the nose.
That aspect of law is the intrinsic patriarchy in statutes.
I couldn’t get through the entire video and probably shouldn’t have watched it in the first place. Abusers know exactly what they’re doing. But, I always like to underscore that they don’t have anger issues, they have control issues. Anger is just their reaction to when they can’t control someone.
I couldn’t say it better. My abuser destroyed my dissertation research, souvenirs from international travel and threw things around the house - in addition to physical abuse.
Ditto on everything here.
It actually doesn’t affect credibility in court. If you’re not under oath a judge really doesn’t care and, frankly, the statutes on domestic violence and electronic recording determine everything judges do.
I stopped reading anything even remotely associated with the Onion when they were horribly cruel to Quvenzhané Wallis.
Even Jay told Rachel “this is not your story to tell” after she got Romeo shot. So the show knows that, but still prioritized a white woman in that outlandish scene.
I was a 15 year-old girl in 1993 when Hillary Clinton campaigned for universal healthcare and I will NEVER forget how the right-wing and the press treated her.
I’ve been in continued court case as a survivor of domestic violence where the DV was tied in with custody. So, I’ve seen countless people charged with DV walk - especially if it’s a defendant’s first offense. I’m actually surprised this defendant served any time.
Funny, I never was into her. She had this blog that was all about fashion about 10 years ago that a friend thought I would like. I didn’t like the Office and didn’t vibe with her character on it, but thought maybe I’m missing something.
We were in Israel (very open - except to Arabs - and Jordan), but we were there when there were a lot of bus bombings that led to restrictions on my travel and independence.
