I don’t know about that. There are guys and shops out there who specialize in doing crazy things like this, and do it very well. However, the cost of their services is FAAAAAAAAARRRRR greater than just buying a Porsche Turbo from the get go. So, it has to be a home job if the point is to get something insanely fast…

I love the idea of this, I really really do. However, I disagree that this is in the reach of, “the average shadetree mechanic with a bit of time on their hands.” A swap like this is only doable for the most competent of shadetree mechanics. The average ones should stick to the basics.
