I drove one for the first time this morning and have this to suggest:

I’ve got to say £20k isn’t that much really for a new car and secondly you don’t buy a MX5 for power, you buy it because at heart it has the soul of a traditional English sports car.

The Lotus Elise did just fine with that much power and could out do many cars with twice the power. Power =/= value.

Decent list except for tower strut bar. I came hoping to find sway bars but glad I didn’t have to teach someone a lesson in suspension tuning. *thumbs up. Weight/distribution is something people don't take seriously enough. It has a profound impact.

Agreed completely. A C3 *needs* to be developed like this. Imagine if there was a company doing for C3s what Eagle does for E-Types or Singer does for 911s.

These were great though - while ridiculous, they captured the zeitgeist of the car tuning moment perfectly.
