Well, cars that people actually care about, cars that have a following, yes.

Same year as my brother’s. They hold value pretty well but the key to getting a lower price on a used Wrangler, from what I’m told, is to avoid buying the last year of a body style.

There’s documentation of a culture and then there’s fine art and fashion. Nothing to get bent out of shape over. These are just good photography, not photojournalism.

Of course, because everything’s bigger in Texas.

Well, that’s good. I should have guessed.

My brother has a TJ Wrangler and I even find it kind of scary when he’s not driving it quickly. The way it moved sideways when he chucked it into a muddy parking space has almost made me scream. I love Wranglers but you really don’t ever seem to feel like you’re riding in them so much as you’re riding on them.

Blaze Yellow that was offered on the WRX. In a certain light it can look... okay... but most of the time it just looks like yellow paint that’s been faded by the sun. Others that I dislike just as much include all shades of burgundy, British racing green, and the similar, but metallic green that was on so many

Meh, the 612 looked way worse.

That’s not overpaying, that’s just what they’re worth. I’ve seen some horrifically modified FDs go for $30K+. This seems NP. The R1 package, I would think, would be more rare.

On the one hand, I agree, for that price it should not have base seats, but on the other hand, those Recaros hurt the last time I sat in them.

I’ve heard that frequently from Jetta owners. The Golfs seemed to be made better, but then, still not perfect. My Rabbit/Golf has just been weird things wearing out too soon. A friend with a similar age Jetta had a lot of electrical gremlins along with things wearing out too soon. I hope VW figures it out one of these

I could be wrong, but I believe the Carrera GT predates PASM. Wikipedia isn’t the end all be all, but it’s what I have at my disposal right now and it says that PASM didn’t appear until the year after the Carrera GT production ended. There’s no practical way Porsche could have added it after the fact as I’m sure it’s

I wouldn’t blame you for avoiding them. My wife likes them though and has a family history with them since her father had a MkI Rabbit. So, who knows, we might some day own another. Although, the MkVII would really have to prove a big step up in not falling apart and it will be a few years before we know that. If I

I never knew the Zero’s lights extended that way. Interesting.

It’s still a fairly risky gamble. You’re still trusting that the rest of the car won’t cost much of anything to keep going, which in this case is a gamble. I don’t know how well the MkVI or MkVII Golfs and Jettas have held up or will in the future, but my regular non-TDI MkV Rabbit (Golf elsewhere) is still below 100k

Hah! No, it was a neglected Miata. No worries now. With the exception of the heater core and one metal pipe, it’s got an entirely new cooling system.

I did not know that. You learn something new every day.

The smell of fear for anyone who’s blown a head gasket before.

Not the first time I’ve seen it. It’s a filter and it’s probably easier to come by than whatever Ferrari used.
