Seriously? A car for a mile each way at 16?! You lazy fat murrican fuckers should be fucking ashamed of yourself. Get a bike or walk, FFS. The planet is dying and shit like this is a massive reason.

As others have pointed out Minnetonka is a very affluent community. This kid has already got mutual funds/trusts, and he’s got an extra 20K for a car to go 5,280 feet on school days.

You’re sixteen and you have $20 grand to spend on a car??? Ok kid, this is the voice of reason and experience - and 35 years your senior. Take $10 grand and bury it in a GIC, mutual fund, or some other long-term and low risk investment. Seriously. Invest it and forget it. If you don’t play with it and let it compound

you live a mile from school. walk when it is nice, have a friend pick you up when it isn’t. or buy a true beater for those days. a nice old honda accord with snow tires should do the trick. pocket the rest and go to europe the summer after you graduate (which if you’re getting 20 large from the folks to spend here

As a Minnesotan, their location says everything. Quite possibly one of the most affluent suburbs/areas of the Twin Cities. $20k is regularly funny money in that neck of the woods.

$20K is inexpensive for the average person living in Minnetonka, MN.

True but only about a decade of those 29 years you are viable to work a full time well paying job. Age eventually start catching up to most people and business are ageist as fuck. Hell in the corporate world you are lucky to not be getting pushed out the door at 55. Then you are looking for a new job and running the

I agree that 55 isn’t “that” old but you can’t, for example, make risky financial decisions and expect to recover. Switching careers becomes much more difficult since recruiters can be pretty ageist. And while there are plenty of 55 year old people in great shape, that assumes you have been taking care of yourself the

Those 29 years look a lot different to a 55-year old than a 15- or 25-year old. It’s not as easy to change, for multiple reasons.

TIL questioning whether a 55-year old has a lot of time to make changes implies I don’t think 55-year olds have wants, needs, and ambitions. Thanks for teaching an old dog new tricks!

It’s $3,500.00. If you want a manual wagon, something (subjectively) “cool,” it’s only thirty-five hundred dollars.  For me, this is in the range of cost where it’s cheap enough that if you like it, and it’s isn’t clearly a steaming pile of shit, it’s a NP.

Having owned the lesser powered 92 Escort single side mirror base model, I can say these things are fairly bulletproof. I’m surprisingly good with this project car and the price seems fair enough. I don’t care for the black wheels but that’s an easy fix and the fact it’s been all tested is a plus for me. NP for me.

Heroes?

Yakov Smirnoff is now Jerry Heineken.

Considering that this ride closed several years ago, and there’s a brutal war going on right now, we can’t even blame this on a slow news day. Why, exactly, is this coming up now?

Having been in the construction industry for a few decades and being involved in historic renovations on multiple occasions I’ve come around to the view that most so-called “historical”buildings should be demolished when they become unusable and replaced with something new.

Wait until you see what they’ve got planned for Splash Mountain.

I rewatched Big Mouth recently, and found that as the seasons progressed it felt really overstuffed with all the different mood creatures. I almost wish they had simply had the hormone monsters and demonstrated everything with them to streamline it. But I still enjoy the show so I’m cautiously optimistic about the

My least favorite part of Big Mouth is every character voiced by Nick Kroll. Especially Rick and Coach Steve. Fuck those guys. I’ll give Maurice a little leeway, and as much as Lola annoys me, she blindsides me with some of the funniest lines in the show. (I don’t know why, but “Lola’s right here, you fucking brussel

**SPOILER ALERT**
