I would have assumed that the inverse of Lolita would have been where the child herself would be the predator, which Kubrick’s Lolita itself has some hints of unless I misread it.

Why does that make it any better? She (and her books) are a product of the time they were written. Why does that make her less deserving of having her name on a prize? By taking her name off, it’s basically saying she’s no longer deserving of it.  Her work isn’t suddenly worse...

I’m getting tired of that asinine statement. Racism,stupidity, and an archaic electoral college system are why Trump is president, no other reasons. Least of all someone removing a name from a library prize, you knob.

Acknowledging that the writing from a very horrible era for minorities is why Trump is president? That’s not being woke, that’s just saying, hey, considering other humans animals is actually not a good trait we want to instill in kids.

Yup, confronting and dealing with the legacy of racism and tearing down the racist wallpaper you don’t notice anymore is what got Trump elected.
