Might it have something to do with the government raids on VW’s headquarters in between VW saying they might be interested and Marchionne backing off? The whole TDI scandal thing is starting a new chapter of ugliness.

Lincoln. The 1961-1965 Continental, and especially the convertible, were the pinnacle of American auto design for me. Everything since has been crap. Oh, and Chrysler not going ahead with production of the Ghia designed turbine car sucked badly too.
