I think people have largely given up on HL3. This is more of a “last straw” on people’s general perception that Valve has stopped caring about games. People *love* Valve games, and I think people would have been perfectly happy if they’d released a “real” game, even a new IP.

I definitely think it’s good that so many games have come out in recent years embracing accessibility. The diversity of games available and of the people playing them has grown exponentially in the past decade.

I think a lot of people don’t pick up on Cliff B’s tongue-in-cheek bro-ness. Obviously I don’t know him personally, but it really seems to me like he’s in on the joke. “Maaan look how intense and hardcore this game is, duuude” *gives a wink*

D. An open-world survival game that’s huge but somehow also boring

Well, at least I can thank them for pushing me off the fence in terms of whether or not to buy this game.

“roughly twice as long as Final Fantasy XV”

It’ll actually make some things easier; loot will be much easier to sift through, and reactionary shooting will be easier because you don’t have a sudden perspective shift if you’re just shooting from the hip. Also, remember that everyone else will have their visibility reduced too. You’ll know for sure that that

Frozen Synapse is a more recent game that has a lot of the same tactical subtleties. It’s not real-time per se, but it sort of is.

Bless you and the sacrifices you make for the rest of us

Reminds me of recreating sprites as Animal Crossing patterns so I could wear them as t-shirts

Of course I don’t know him personally, but from the article and from his words I got the sense that he was being genuine. If he were intentionally churning out crappy games and trying to mislead people about their nature to make a quick buck, that would be worth criticizing. But I didn’t get that sense at all, and I

I had to do a double-take to see if this was just a picture of the top of the article

The guy who made it is clearly proud of it, and there are other people it clearly brings joy to. Whether it meets the “standards” of we dedicated connoisseurs of all things gaming who read sites like Kotaku or not, you can’t objectively declare the game to be worthless, because it matters to some people. Whether

This is weirdly inspiring.

Also, I don’t get all the salt, even from commenters here. People seem personally offended that he dared release something that most people think is crappy. Who’s it hurting? He’s not being deceptive about it. If you don’t think it’s worth $13 (frankly I don’t either), then don’t buy it.

I heard before that it was due to a capsule-shaped collider instead of a box collider on Crash himself. How hard is it to patch that, or at least add a toggle?

GameStop just wanted something to sell that people couldn’t buy digitally.

The GameCube had such a good controller, so long as you didn’t need to control the camera with the right analog stick. I think Metroid Prime remains my favorite usage of it. Shooting those power beam shots by mashing that gloriously huge A button before they hit the wall with a “pop” was a masterwork of game feel.

Maybe Windwaker? Also, the whole game kinda reminds me of Dragon Quest Builders.

I would think of Batman as being Chaotic Good (unafraid to go outside the law and make a mess in order to do what’s right), and Indiana Jones as Neutral-Good or even Neutral-Neutral (generally self-serving and definitely rule-breaking, despite the occasional sense of nobility).
