Is Rand Paul America's First Tiger Beat President?
Is Rand Paul America's First Tiger Beat President?
I wouldn't call that a strictly Conservative problem, though. How many times have we seen people talk about how much they love Adventure Time because it's so clearly Feminist, or some hokum along those lines? How many think-pieces (ugh) dredge up examples of progressive politics in unlikely pop culture niches, to…
I don't fault Raimi for putting Venom in, but I'll hold him responsible for all the other crappy parts of SM3.
What about Charlie Chaplin's classic short, "An Upstate Vacation"?
Boy, they're just doing shared universes everywhere these days.
Is it really necessary to specify the race of the rapist?
That's kind of inaccurate reasoning.
Bang indeed, right?
The whole thing where the men with power do the most sex? Blame god or nature or bad luck, but the universe put the demon in us because the people without the demon kept getting killed.
You could make the argument that having multiple partners among men is a good sign of 'fitness'. Porn (or more generally speaking, hot times) involving a disproportionate female/male ratio would represent many opportunities for a dude to spunk up the next generation.
It's kind of hard to get a bead on the bias interference on that one. I mentioned to my parents that a lot of people my age think of female sexuality as being more malleable than men, and my mom said that it was just the opposite when she was in college.
(SPHINX!)
Maybe a tie between Shore Leave and the teacher from Hey Arnold!
I think the genetic element, whatever it is, seems to set our basic personal flexibility, but I think nurture contributes more than we're accounting for.
'Learning' isn't entirely accurate. He's acting according to his program, accumulating pop-culture references and cross-indexing them to pseudo-randomly generate conversational models. Any apparent semblance of understanding is just overactive pattern-recognition on our part.
"Sentient" might be a stretch. He's sort of like Watson on Jeopardy, in that he can pick up on context clues and generate a somewhat related statement, which is occasionally germane to the substance of the conversation.
I have to admit, Jade Helm is a pretty kick-fuckin'-ass name. I mean, if you gotta be overthrown, at least it's got some style, right?
Yeah, she seems cool.
I am not hip enough to get the reference.
I think you could do an interesting tribal story if you approached it sort of like the Cargo Cult phenomenon. An isolated people see phenomena they can't immediately understand, so they apply the most advanced logical technology they have: religion.
