True enough, and managers get caught in this bind, they want the revenue for the restaurant and have to balance that with having a motivated and engaged staff.
So they let people move around the store filling a cart for up to an hour?
Various restaurants have various policies on this. Heck, one manager one night will be a hardass (“Sorry, we’re about to close in fifteen minutes, we can’t seat you.”), and the next the other manager will be a hardass in the other direction (“We’re here to work and make money, we’re not here to go home early.”)
