Again though, that’s just faulty confusing messaging from the restaurant, if they say they close in half an hour but really they mean they’re closed right now, to allow for 1/2 hour of cleanup and flipping the restaurant over. If you post on the door that the restaurant is closed at 2300 hr, then be open until then.

That’s why it’s better for a restaurant to show a ‘Last Seating’ time than a ‘Closing Time’. If the closing time is meant to be when the manager punches the code in the alarm panel and locks the door, it’s just a recipe for upset diners and frustrated staff.
