Passenger trains will now take a “panorama” detour to use SBB’s words. The detour will add between an hour to two hours to trips over the Alps and require most passengers to switch trains to complete their journey. Hopefully, the scenic route isn’t the only route for too long in 2024.
No, no we cannot.
I would buy a modern CUV before I drive ANY PT Cruiser. PT Cruisers aren’t cool. They were never cool. Even with a manual.
“To make matters more interesting, the buyer financed this car”
I always thought the Volt was the perfect bridge between ICE and EV. 1st gen had almost 40 miles EV range, 2nd gen had over 50. Covers almost everyone’s commute. And then they have an ICE generator that eliminates range anxiety you get in other EVs. I’m surprised that it wasn’t better accepted.
Not fast cars, but 0-60…
The comment for the Volt is so ironic because the F15 chassis BMW X5 hybrid (X5-40e) only has a 15 mile range on electric.. Progress??
Hard disagree on many things.
I’m surprised that the “super-sized” pickup truck and full-sized SUV front ends/hoods/grilles didn’t make the list. Sadly, we already have/need front-view cameras for off-roading, it won’t be too long until we need them for parking lots and school pick-up lines, as well.
There are no CUVs or SUVs that have the interior dimensions or rear load height of a basic minivan
If you’re regularly pushing the limits of traction in your street car, you’re an asshole.
Man, I can’t believe I missed a good question. Anyway, number one, far and away for me is big rims. Why? So you can have a worse ride, more expensive and frequent tire replacement, far greater likelihood of rim replacement, far greater likelihood of getting them stolen and for what? So you can “fill out those wheel…
All Hondas and Toyotas plus a Ford F-150. We didn’t need Consumer Reports to tell us this.
Well, let’s consult the DOJ’s press release:
“People like to point out that “building cars is hard” when Tesla fails to live up to the quality of established brands.”
You forget the head on collision that will result from two drivers feeling that the other is going to give way. Maybe as there are also two cyclists going opposite directions, who end up with a car behind each of them. What could possibly go wrong in that scenario? Kalamazoo is banking on the good nature of humans…
Anyone who’s ever ridden a bike can attest they’ve felt safe and respected by cars in traffic.
I give it a few days before a person on a bike is hit by a car, OR the street is just gridlocked because 1 car doesn’t want to give ROW to another.
That intersection, where the perpendicular traffic’s green lights are in clear view from your approach to a red light, is a TEXTBOOK example of why some basic level of Vehicle-to-Infrastructure communication is a fundamental requirement for Level 4 and Level 5 autonomy.
