Indignation?? What the fuck are you talking about?

I own an S2000 that I race against literally all of the cars you are talking about. My car puts down 202hp at the wheels with a tune on 93 (AP2s will do about 210-215). My friend’s GR86 with a similar setup is putting down 235whp and weighs less - most FA24 cars are doing the same. The first-gen car did around 160whp…
The “it needs more power!” argument is so tiring to hear at this point. For one, dyno results have repeatedly shown the new 86 putting down 40-50hp more at the wheels than the outgoing model. For two, these cars have been incredibly competitive in grassroots motorsports, and have been akin to the S2000/NSX in the…
Noveau rich are the same everywhere.
7500 rpm near 100 hp/l V8 for the price of an Integra? People will bitch, and the car has flaws, but it's cool this still exists in 2023.
On the GT, is the Active Exhaust cool sounding or just annoying? Is the extra power worth the extra price and noise? Does the start up always do an uncorked throttle blip to sound cool, or is there an easily accessed quiet start for people that don’t want to be an Aasshat at 6 AM?
I saw an advertised deal for $2499 for a Panamera lease in the LA Times yesterday. Insanity.
We had to run out of people dumb enough to take on a 1k car payment at some point.
Even the companies who are trying to do it properly (like Waymo) can’t get self-driving right. It’s gonna take a lot more computing power, and better sensors than engineers have been able to put on a car thus far.
I think the issue is when such tech will arrive and subsequently be adopted on a mass scale. It’s not unreasonable to say that eventuality (such as it is) shouldn’t be used as a reason to keep from expanding and streamlining public transit.
While it sounds like a dumb data-entry screwup at Westlake, I wouldn’t be surprised if the dealership had pocketed the last few months’ payments and told Westlake they were delinquent.
Depending on international drivers license requirements, yes. Would an UK citizen with an international driver’s license be allowed to drive in Texas? I would think so. Case closed. This was racial profiling.
They need to raise the education requirements. Require a Masters in Law. The overtime abuse can pay off the student debt.
Even if Puerto Rico was a different country, which it isn’t, his license would STILL be valid for driving in the US if he’s not a Texas resident.
Lol at the cop not knowing what a REALID license is.
The state of Texas requires that peace officers have at least either a high school diploma, GED or were honorably discharged from the military after at least 24 months of active-duty service.
A machine that can cease functionality because someone took three seconds to put a traffic cone on it and then can only be restarted by having a third party physically come out to remove the cone seems like a machine that doesn’t need to be on the road to begin with.
I can see sticking to OEM tires with supercars and exotics, but not for regular-ass cars. Exotics have weird sizes that aren’t normally found in the aftermarket so if you own an exotic, you have no choice. OEM tires are good for most conditions but don’t specialize in anything. But they also cost a lot more.
“But nobody drives a Wrangler on paper, they a few people take it to the dirt.” I see a lot of pristine Rubicons successfully navigating treacherous mall parking lots.
Enjoy Utah. If you want to get a more rounded picture on the wrangler, make sure to get it on the highway for a while. That tempers the off-roader in its element for something that also has to work as a car.
