And Netflix will stretch what should be a brief scenario to make some points in a contracts class into 8 hours of “documentary” with 1.5 hours of content that’s mostly just people ranting.

Eventually you’ll realize that the solution you’re working towards already exists and is called a train.
And the widespread use of “machine learning” to try to “train” for driving has really just done a fantastic job of showing the limits of those techniques and reasons we don’t use them for safety critical features in other parts of the transportation industry even when the drivers (pilots) are required to be trained…
My initial thoughts are just logistically how does this go down. I think people who haven’t dug holes don’t realize that digging a car sized hole is a big job. You’re going to need a team of people or a machine and someone who knows how to use it. Then you need to get the car into the hole, which the machine might…
They essentially just described a 4Runner in their requirements.
Just like with Honda Jet, Honda’s mindset when it comes to making cars is not easily applied in other businesses. Especially when those other businesses are not at all aligned with how Honda operates. GE Aviation and Sony are not known for making inexpensive AND reliable consumer appliances.
Oops. I just left a very similar comment before seeing yours. It really does look like a Camaro from that angle though. Weird converging evolution.
From that angle it looks like a Camaro.
The Boston Dynamics Robots were more impressive in every way over a decade ago. They’re already being used for actual useful shit (sometimes) and aren’t just weird side projects for bored controls engineers.
It isn’t just that they don’t have an immobilizer, many cars still on the road don’t. The other issue is that you can easily defeat the need for a key of any kind with a USB cable.
Maybe like with the immobilizer, it is something you CAN get, but don’t get automatically.
I’m confused how these places are getting the police to respond so quickly. Maybe these are all long term rental situations? I wouldn’t expect rental > reported stolen > police acknowledgement > arrest to happen on a particularly quick timeline. At least not reliably.
John McClane tended to only shoot at someone after confirming that they meant him or others harm. Remember the scene where the head bad guy pretended to be one of the hostages?
So you’re admitting that you really shouldn’t be allowed to have a gun?
We’re watching some Hulu show about Maine and New Hampshire game wardens. Just loading your gun inside of your vehicle is a ticket-able offense. Shooting from a moving vehicle (mind you, we’re talking about shooting at wild-life, not humans!) is of course not allowed.
The pandemic convinced old rich guys that what many of us already knew to be true. Major strategic and economic supply chains rely too heavily on external sources. They understood not outsourcing tons of basic stuff, but didn’t get that planes, trains, and automobiles still rely on computer chips and other parts made…
Oh I know about this! SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) is being pushed throughout the aviation industry. Depending on what fuel standards apply I’ve heard of up to 50% blended fuel being used. In my corner of the industry it is more about what it means for durability, fuel burn, performance, etc that isn’t fully…
And I guess not enough people drove them to remember (or maybe they did and have just forgotten) but the interiors of the WRX, STI, and EVO were all pretty trash. You absolutely felt like you were in a turbo charged econo-box. Not even the nicer trims could stand up next to much older much cheaper car interiors.
I once fought a ticket where a trooper said I was going 55 in a 35, but had only done a “partial clock” which I guess mean he eyeballed it. Even the judge called BS because it was a busy street during rush hour right by the courthouse with stop lights every block and the judge knew there was no way you hit 55 MPH on…
