There are many good reasons mentioned here. Chevy swaps have been way more popular than Ford swaps since the 1960s. Another reason is Chevys have always been cheaper to modify than Fords. My first car in 1965 was a ‘57 Chevy and for the next 6 or 7 years I can’t remember all the Chevys I owned. In my 20s my income

Pretty sad. I’m sure what was once a very comfortable ride is now like a Radio Flyer wagon. ND

I’m going to buck the trend running in today’s comments. I’d haggle a bit on the price, but I’d buy it. I’d park it at my friend Joel’s place up in Portland and put it in Craigslist for at least $20,000. Type 2s sell for insane prices in Portland. I could even make a fair profit on it here in Northern California. Rust

There are seniors on Social Security that don’t earn enough to have to file a return. They could really use the money, but they won’t receive a cent. How is this fair?

I wish it wasn’t red, but got to love it just the same. NP

What a worthless pile of shit. I’m sorry Lawrence, but you really don’t know what off roading is I guess.

While it is nice to look at I’d want to drive it also. These Jags spent more time in the shop than they did on the road even when brand new. The majority of you are just too young to have seen that. Huge fucking ND

This is the way to go. Find a 25 year old Ford pickup and drive it until the wheels fall off it. Ford trucks run forever. This one would be perfect - https://jalopnik.com/at-6-300-is-this-1998-ford-f-150-xlt-a-good-deal-1849666151

I’ve just never been a Dodge fan and I can think of dozens of cool cars that I would want for $40,000. None of them are Dodges. ND

I could write a very long shit list of why this is not a good deal, but reading your replies you all have figured it out also. ND

We lived about 20 minutes from RIR, but in 1960 I was a hair too young to go to the track. The first race I went to was the 1963 Nascar race. Because he was a local guy from Riverside Dan Gurney was my hero as a kid. He won the race that day. He really owned that track. I got his autograph after the race. Eight years

It’s Ford truck with only 160,000 miles so far. It should be good for at least another 160,000 miles. NP

These are very cool cars and the people that own one of them know it. Most of them have been well cared for and are still in great condition. This one isn’t completely original, but still is probably worth the asking price. I’m surprised it isn’t on BaT. NP

This is in amazing condition for something that is 50 years old. But even in today’s crazy world of used RVs for sale this is only worth maybe $5,000. The RV manufacturers have learned a lot since this was build. For $25,000 you can find a much nicer rig with all the newer features. Huge ND

I was just thinking that we have had 2 car seats for our grandkids in our X1 and I have the driver’s seat all the way back. Maybe he has the wrong car seats?

Go with a BMW 3 or 5 series hybrid. We are picking out options to order one right now. Also, like Sam I am a big guy. I find the seats in our X1 to be very uncomfortable on trips. I wonder what his trick is?

Count me in. Pretty nice old car and the price is very fair. NP

You forgot to mention the huge swarms of flies at the Salton Sea.

If I need to go somewhere that requires 4 wheel drive this would probably be my last choice as I hate breaking down and walking home. I got my driver’s license in 1964 and my first car was a Jeep CJ5. Since then there has always been at least one 4X4 in my stable, but never a British anything. While two of my favorite

Yes it does. This high mileage shitbox is in Montana. I’m sure it has none of the anti emissions parts on it.
