I guess in todays market this is priced right for an almost showroom condition Maita. I don’t want it myself, but someone will buy it. NP

Texas is an awful race track, in an awful state, and they had an awful person throw the green flag. Then the race started and things somehow got even worse.
When these were first coming out I had a nice CJ7 with a 401 V-8 in it and I laughed my ass off at them. The next thing I knew they were all over San Diego County and even a couple of my desert racer friends had bought them to play with. I know the price seems high, but these have a loyal cult following. This one is…
I don’t understand most kit cars, the better Cobras not included. Most are engineered by people that aren’t engineers. Probably some of the prototypes come out of barns. Many are rolling death traps. And this one is about as ugly as fuck. I would never want one of these. ND
I agree, the engine is the best part of this ugly pile of parts. 200+ HP is on tap if you want it
Car prices have gone completely crazy, but I haven’t. ND
I have no use for a fast station wagon and the price is crazy. ND
I had a couple of ‘65 Malibu SSs and a “65 2 door wagon many years ago and loved the simple clean lines of that vintage Chevelle. When the second generation cars came out I wanted to throw up. They looked heavy and bloated. I’m sure there is a market for this car, but not something I’d drive.
This is a joke, right? NFD
This is a close call for me as I am sure the stupid doors can be properly repaired. I kind of like old Alfas, but this one just isn’t old enough. The earlier cars had that beautiful tail, sleek covered headlights, and most importantly side draft Weber carbs. I’m pretty sure there is more rust than what is shown also.…
Buying this car at that price would be the stupidest purchase a person could make. ND
Price dropped to $5,500
Left knee, sorry.
The guy across the street from me is 75 years old and he has been driving VW buses since high school. In the 18 years we have lived here he has had 6 or 7, mostly Westys. A couple of years ago he was complaining his right knee was shot and he converted his current Westy to an automatic. It’s his daily driver and it…
This Westy should have the engine replaced with a Subaru. With the added power the automatic trans will be just fine. Not every cars needs a manual trans. This is a camper not a sports car.
This is of no interest to me. The new Broncos are nice though.
I know this looks like a lot of work to restore and it is. It also is very worth the time and money to do. Don’t even try and start the engine, just swap it for a Subaru. The rust repair is normal on Vanagons. The side panels trap water. The rear pillar is a cut and replace job. There are a limited number of Westys…
I agree on the BMW X3. My son-n-law has one and the back bolsters are too close together for a larger person. But they aren’t as bad as the bolsters on our X1. I wish I had taken a longer test drive. I go back and forth between the Bay Area and Sacramento, about a 2 hour drive. By the second hour I am moving all…
Scouts were huge piles of shit. Compared to the Jeep CJs and Broncos of the late 1960s a Scout was a bloated over weight under-powered bad joke. VW can’t miss on improving the Scout.
ND. No explanation needed.
