As a Sens fan, I dread with every fibre of my being having to face off against the Leafs in the playoffs, intensity- and sorrow-filled as those early aughts series were.

On the other hand, I would loooooove to get another taste of les habitants in the playoffs. The last two series between them were all-timers in terms

I always look forward to your writing, Terrence. Thanks for bringing some humanity to this, uhh, discussion.

Bonjovi Hardeman sounds like a Mandarin mistranslation of Bojack Horseman retranslated back into English.

That’s far too cosmopolitan. Think “exurban Fairbanks”.

Navy brat here so I won’t even pretend to acknowledge you.

Yeah, that’s my setup in Toronto now. It can get a little dicey in the alley after a big snowfall, but there seems to be a good communal commitment to keeping it navigable. It’s better at “bringing the neighbourhood together” than, like, any other initiative I’ve ever seen.

I grew up in suburban Canada with a massively wide (but thankfully short) driveway that became my duty to shovel when I turned 13. Fast forward 10 years and I move out, just in time for my old man to get free snow shovelling for life through the department of veterans affairs because of a lingering surgery concern.

But sure, living in rural areas is great for a child’s development.

How is soccer still legal?

never. put. it. in. an. email.

Try not to get your rocks off too early. Or too late.

Ah shit, I just wrote your exact reply, so take a star and please ignore me.

Teams should suffer roster position suspensions for something like that. Make ‘em play 5 or 10 games down a man (ie, a 22-man roster limit) and see how long it takes for players to cut this bullshit out.

More fun to watch, at least. Gretzky was all sublime skating, positioning and passing (well, not all that, a lot of other things, too, he was fucking great, etc.), but Lemieux turned hockey into an arcade game at least three times a game when the sport was getting denser, tougher and generally harder to play.

Just Catholics, so all Christians, really. The rest are heathens.

yeah, that british parochialism is a hell of a drug.

yeah, and alberta (and quebec) are about as liberal as it gets with booze sales in this country, too. ontario is slooooooowly rolling out beer and wine in grocery stores, but otherwise we can only buy it from “the beer store” (a chain owned by the largest brewers and a de facto monopoly) or the provincial liquor

welcome to canada.

This is about as non-violent a violence you’re gonna find in the world. Dude coulda stomped the shit out of the white kid if he meant to do anything other than temporarily make this kid realize his words have consequences.

Not enough attention has been paid to the adorable way gators front legs move when they’re out of water, all floppy like a puppy learning to walk.
